The history of Amazon, the story of one man with a dream. We’re talking about Jeffrey Bezos. As the story goes, he started Amazon in his own garage, where he started off as an e-book selling company before expanding it onto numerous other services for people.
When designing the name, Jeff decided to go with the name “Amazon” since he thought naming it after the biggest river would cause the company to succeed (And it did). Furthermore, if it began with an A, then it would be at the top of the companies alphabetically.
Lastly, Amazon’s logo was changed to have a curved arrow going from letter A to letter Z in the word Amazon, to show they have every product ranging from A – Z. It also, intentionally, has a smile on its face.
In 2017, it just managed to employ 500,000 people. Isn’t Mr. Bezos great! Go Jeff!
